Rapha, Palma (5★)

Updated: Feb 22

A cycling cafe that is famous for it's gillets and pro tour teams as it is for it's coffee, the one and only Rapha has found it's way across the mediterranean sea and made a home in Palma. As you would expect this particular club house continues to deliver style and a friendly atmosphere in bundles, another MUST stop on your cycling tours of Mallorca.

Rapha Palma Outside

Just north of the Cathedral de Mallorca, you'll find Rapha nestled into a small pedestrian square right in the heart of Palma. It's a perfect escape from the nearby bustling high streets, and with all the facilities we look for in a cycling hub you'll find everything you need. Bike racks outisde, indoor & outdoor seating, pumps, bathrooms, wifi... You name it, they've got it, so follow our lead and unclip.

Coffee & Cake

Some things never change, and the excellent quality of the coffee is Rapha Clubhouses is one of them. Rapha Mallorca source their coffee blend from local roast house Mistral who are conveniently just around the corner (incase you want to visit)! Their flat white is legendary, and whilst it's a small touch the quality of the branded coffee cups really makes the experience special. The cakes are equally impressive, and whilst we have finished off vegan banana bread & croissants in our last visit, it's the donuts that sit at the top of our favourite list. It's also worth mentioning that they have a selection of cold drinks and hot food made behind the bar, so we have included a recent copy of the menu for you in the gallery.

Bike Friendly?

Ofcourse Rapha are going to get top scores here! Bike racks inside and out, a bathroom, wifi, plenty of seating within eye line of the bikes, a pump, tv's screening old bike races, memorabilia (look of for Miguel Induráin props!) and a whole load of great bike gear to peruse.

Service

Amazing. We've chatted with different team members every time we visited - and Miguel, Mario & Berta are friendly, professional and accommodating. Quick service, smiles and high fives means they tick all of the boxes.

Location

If you're cycling around then island or staying in Alcudia then obviously this isn't going to be your first port of call! BUT if you are based in, or visiting Palma then this is in the perfect spot. Pretty much the whole city centre is within a ten minute walk, including the sea which enables the team to run 'Ride & Swim' sessions in the summer. The Clubhouse is also a short walk from the main train station, which means even from Muro you're only ever a 30 minute train ride away. Details of this to come in our route library.

Summary for Rapha, Palma

Rapha Palma has everything we have come to expect from the famous clubhouses... and a little bit more! Memorabilia, routes, old racing playbacks and friendly staff mean that having a coffee at Rapha has never been so good. If you're on the island then follow them on Instagram to stay abreast of their latest events.

Quick note on the review process

We either find the cafe's on our cycling adventures, or we're directed to them by friends. From there we rock up on the bike, order coffee, soak up the vibe and speak with the team. Once we've been there 4/5 times we'll write the review.
